About Jane

My main aim in practice is to support relaxation, peacefulness and relief of stress and tension.  When we are relaxed and happy we are nicer to be with, more likely to make good choices and to treat others well.  In this way, removing the obstructions of stress and tension can lead to more joyful and meaningful living and we can truly come home to ourselves.

I practise and teach in the holistic therapy field, and hold diplomas in holistic therapies and nutrition, together with appropriate levels of training in counselling and teaching. Two years' undergraduate study of Philosophy (Reading University, 1983-1985) and one year’s degree level study of Chinese medicine and acupuncture (College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading, 2005) have enhanced my holistic approach.
My experience in teaching includes massage at NVQ level (Basingstoke College), and reflexology as an adult learning course (Newbury College) together with five years of private Reiki and meditation tuition.

In addition to providing holistic therapies three days a week, I visit a large financial institution twice a week to provide short head, neck and shoulders massage to administrative and call centre staff.

Transcendental meditation, which I learned in the early 1980s, has been a life-changing practice for me. I currently teach a simple form of mantra meditation based on this practice. I am interested in many different forms of meditation and particularly drawn to Buddhist ethics.

I am professionally registered with the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and appropriately insured.
